Dashboard & Widgets

The Dashboard provides an overview of key business metrics and information at a glance. It can be customized by adding Widgets to display the most relevant data in one place.

💡

Each instellix user can configure the dashboard settings individually for themselves.

Add Widgets to the Dashboard

Widgets display Metrics on the Dashboard, providing an overview of key business data.

Each Widget is based on an existing Metric. The Metric defines which data is calculated, while the Widget determines how that data is visualized.

Add a Widget

  1. Open the Dashboard.
  2. Click Add Widget.
  3. Select From a Metric.
  4. Follow the configuration steps below.

Step 1: Select a Metric

Select the Metric to display in the Widget.

  • Use the search field to find a specific Metric.
  • Use the available filters to narrow down the list.
  • Select a Metric to continue.

Note: Only existing Metrics can be selected. To create a new Metric, navigate to Metrics and configure it first.

Step 2: Configure the Visualization

Choose how the selected Metric should be displayed.

Visualization

Depending on the selected Metric, the following visualization types may be available:

  • Single Value: Displays the calculated value as a single number.
  • Bar Chart: Displays values as bars.
  • Pie Chart: Displays the distribution of values across categories.
  • Line Chart: Displays values over time.
  • Area Chart: Displays values over time with a filled area.

Available visualization types depend on the selected Metric.

Width

Select how much horizontal space the Widget should occupy on the Dashboard.

Click Next to continue.

Step 3: Configure the Time Span

Define the period for which the Metric data should be displayed.

  • Time span: Select the period to display, such as the last 30 days.
  • Comparison period: Optionally select a reference period to compare the values.

The preview updates to reflect the selected configuration.

Click Next to continue.

Step 4: Review and Save

Review the Widget configuration and its preview.

Use Edit to return to a previous step if changes are needed.

Click Save to add the Widget to the Dashboard.

The Widget is now available on the Dashboard and displays the selected Metric using the configured visualization and time span.

Create a New Metric

If the required Metric does not exist yet, it must be created before adding the Widget.

  1. Navigate to Metrics.
  2. Create a new Metric and define the data to be calculated.
  3. Save the Metric.
  4. Return to the Dashboard and select the Metric when adding a Custom Widget.
