PDF Output

You can choose per document how its PDF file is created — with or without accessibility support — and whether your default template is used for rendering.

To configure the PDF output, navigate to: Configuration > Provisioning > Document Provisioning

PDF output is part of the document provisioning configuration: you define it once in the Default document provision, and you can override it in every provisioning rule. This way, all documents get your standard output, while specific documents — for example certain document types or billing groups — can deviate. See Document Distribution for the full rule system.

PDF creation

For each provisioning configuration, you select one of two options:

  • PDF with accessibility
  • PDF without accessibility

This setting determines how the PDF file is generated. Choose PDF with accessibility if you need to provide accessible documents to your recipients.

📘

Accessible (barrier-free) PDFs are the PDF with accessibility variant. If accessibility requirements apply to your documents, select this option — as the default and in your provisioning rules.

Use default template

The Use default template toggle controls whether documents matching the configuration are rendered with your default document template. Keep it enabled to use your standard layout; disable it only for configurations that are meant to use a separately set-up template.

Via API

PDF output has no dedicated API — it is part of the document provisioning configuration and is maintained in the webportal. The generated file itself is available for download via GET /v2/files/{fileIdent}.
