Document Templates
Document templates define the layout and branding of your billing documents — the design your customers see on every invoice, credit note, and other document type.
Every document is rendered with the template configured for your tenant. The default template provides a clean standard layout and is used for all documents unless a provisioning rule says otherwise. Tenants can also use customized templates that reflect their corporate design — to introduce or change a custom template, contact instellix with your design requirements.
What you control yourself
- Text elements — every headline, label, and text block on your documents is maintained per language in Translation Management, without touching the template itself.
- Line item structure — how items are grouped and summarized is configured in Document Subtotals.
- PDF variant and template selection — whether a document uses the default template and whether the PDF is created with accessibility support is part of the provisioning configuration, see PDF Output.
One template serves all your document languages: the language-specific texts come from your translations, so a German and an English invoice can be produced from the same template.
