Document Attachments
Upload files on contracts and orders, and open attachments from billing documents in the webportal.
Attachments let you store and share files together with your billing data — on contracts and orders, and later on the resulting billing documents.
This guide explains where attachments live in the webportal, how to upload and remove them, and how they appear on documents.
What attachments are for
Use attachments when you need supporting files next to a commercial object or a billing document — for example contracts, signed confirmations, or reference PDFs that operators and customers should be able to open from the platform.
There are two practical views:
- On contracts and orders — you can upload and delete attachments as part of day-to-day operations.
- On documents — you can open and download the attachments that belong to a finalized billing document.
Add an attachment to a contract or order
Open the contract or order details page in the webportal.
In the attachments area, click Add (add attachment). Select the file you want to upload and confirm.
Limits: the upload accepts files up to 1 MB. Larger files are rejected with an error message.
Attachments on contracts use the contract as origin; attachments on orders use the order as origin. Both are managed from the respective details page.
View and download attachments on a document
Navigate to: Billing > Documents, open the document type you need, and open the document Details.
On the document details page, the attachments section lists the files linked to that document. For PDFs you can open the file from the document view; other file types can be downloaded via the provided link.
Delete an attachment
On a contract or order details page, use the delete action on the attachment row to remove a file that is no longer needed.
Deleting an attachment from the contract or order removes it from that object. Document-side viewing shows the attachments available for that document in its current state.
Tips for operators
- Keep attachments small (max. 1 MB) and use clear file names so colleagues can recognize them in overviews.
- Prefer attaching files to the contract or order while the business case is still open; use the document details page when you need the files in the context of an already created invoice or credit note.
- Attachments are part of document and contract/order management — they do not replace billable items or change document amounts.
