Customer Aggregations
Customer aggregations condense usage data before invoicing: rated usages that you send to instellix are collected per customer and consolidated into billable line items before any document is created. Instead of one invoice line per usage record, your customer receives consolidated positions — fewer, cleaner invoice lines and smaller documents.
How it fits into the billing flow
You submit rated usages, instellix assigns them to the matching aggregation, and once the billing period (plus any configured delay) is reached, the aggregation is closed and becomes a line item — which is then billed like any other line item. For the step-by-step setup, see Rated usage aggregations.
Late usage handling
Usage data can arrive after the period it belongs to has already been billed. How instellix reacts is configured per billing group, separately for rated and for metered usages — via the Late Rated Usage Configuration and Late Metered Usage Configuration settings (for example Corrective and Carry Over).
Do not confuse customer aggregations with document aggregations: customer aggregations condense usage data into billable line items before a document exists, while document aggregations control how line items are grouped and displayed on the final document.
